“The mission of Ektos Unlimited is to prepare enthusiasts for the outdoors and provide training for public safety professionals. We give our clients the practical skills to handle almost any emergency and the confidence to reach their goals. We do this in small groups to make sure every client experience is memorable.  

  We provide summer, winter, CPR/First Aid, and Wilderness Medicine Courses for everyone who would like to experience the outdoors and do so with the right skills. Our classes are unique, very hands-on, and are taught by those with years of experience. 

  Ektos Unlimited also offers guided trips to some very beautiful destinations. These trips offer unforgettable outdoor experiences, all while under the care of Professional Guides. Our guides are trained in Wilderness Medicine" 


 

Founder Dan Sherman

"I began skiing at the age of 3 and never looked back. My progression in the mountains has been an endless pursuit of happiness. I find clarity standing atop mountains and thanking my friends and family for the opportunities to do so. Getting people into the outdoors and experiencing life is my passion."

  Dan has over 25 years of outdoor experience in mountaineering, alpine touring, skiing, fly fishing, ice climbing, backpacking, rock climbing, caving, canyoneering, mountain biking & surfing. Dan is also a member of the San Bernardino County Cave and Technical Rescue Team, Instructor for National Ski Patrol Mountain Travel and Rescue, an Instructor for Avalanche Rescue, American Heart Association Instructor San Bernardino County Sheriff Search and Rescue Basic Mountaineering Course Instructor and an Emergency Medical Technician InstructorMountain Rescue Association Team Member. 15 years of primary 911 paramedic experience with the Fire Service as well as Wilderness Medical care. 16 years as a Ski Patroller and 2 of those being a Ski Patrol Director in Southern California. Primary instructor for an EMT program for the last 5 years.

Blake has 15 years of outdoor experience in mountaineering, backpacking, ice climbing, rock climbing, canyoneering and wilderness survival, and 8 years of experience as a professional science and first response educator. Blake is also a member of the Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit, two-time recipient of the team’s Golden Carabiner Award for exceptional service, and recipient of the Mountain Rescue Association’s Lifesaving Award.
